European Soil Partnership

The European Soil Partnership (ESP) serves as an umbrella network to organizations, initiatives and persons working in soil related fields and advocates for the sustainable management and use of soils. Following the establishment of the Global Soil Partnership (GSP) in 2012, the ESP was established in October 2013 and constitutes one of the seven Regional Soil Partnerships of the GSP.

Six Action Areas, mirroring the Action Areas of the GSP, form the basis of the work within ESP. Given the large geographic extent of the region, four Subregional Partnerships and five National Soil Partnerships have been established so far. The ESP Secretariat, together with the ESP Chair, coordinate ESP activities and faciliate communication with the GSP Secretariat.

In addition to presenting ESP’s areas of work, our website is also intended to serve as a knowledge hub, that categorizes resources and literature, reports on regional news & events, and offers information on the soil condition in Europe.
