Action Area 3: Promote Knowledge and Literacy on Soils
In 2025 several stakeholder events, international conferences and research projects are taking place to promote knowledge and literacy on soils.

Soil Health Now! Conference 2025 in Wageningen, Netherlands on 6-10th April 2025
FORECOMON and 41st Task Force Meeting of ICP Forests in Dresden, Germany on 19-23st May 2025
EUROSOIL in Seville, Spain on 8-12th September 2025
EJP SOIL Annual Science Days and General Meeting in Aarhus, Denmark on 6-7th October 2025
Under the EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe” several research projects are running: (selection)
- EU research programmes: Co-creating solutions for soil health in Living Labs.
- SOILL Startup: Foster a network of healthy Living Labs and Lighthouses across Europe, facilitate collaborations and support knowledge exchange. The Startup follows the NATII00Ns program, ended 2024 and aimed at empowering stakeholders to participate in regional soil health Living Labs.
- SOLO (Soils4Europe): Thinktanks for soil research and innovation in several fields: Land degradation, SOC, Soil sealing, Pesticides, Erosion, Soil structure, EU global footprint, Soil literacy, Soil biodiversity.
- SpongeWorks: Implementation of nature-based solutions for water retention and climate resilience in Euorpe through ad acning scientific knowledge and implementing nature-based solutions and management instruments.
